Beach Park forms the coastal hub delivering the first phase of regeneration at Irvine waterfront. Connecting open space to Beach, a new 6000m² play area forms the focus to investment providing a regional standard facility for play.
Designed to fit within the distinctive dune landscape setting, the play area offers a range of non-prescriptive opportunities encouraging imaginative and creative play. Segregation is avoided and, whilst accepting not all equipment will be fully accessible to all, an inclusive play environment is offered to stretch and challenge/ develop awareness and management of risk
Currently at the detailed stage, proposals have been developed through dialogue & engagement, addressing local needs and ambitions to develop a distinctive play location of broad appeal and high value, contributing to local needs as well as supporting wider placemaking and destination building.
The play facility is supported with well-developed access and connections to visitor facilities, public transport, active travel routes and parking making it an attractive family destination. Pump track/skatepark facilities are also included to broaden audience and interest group appeal.
